THE ANALYSIS OF BARRIERS TO BIM IMPLEMENTATION FOR INDUSTRIALIZED BUILDING CONSTRUCTION: A CHINA STUDY

The emerging Building Information Modeling (BIM) can better promote the development of building industrialization, with data integration between information-rich models and business processes. However, practical implementation BIM still faces barriers. Existing studies have discussed these barriers extensively, but research on to amid industrialization in China is inadequate. In this study, 23 were identified through literature review. A questionnaire survey approach was used collect from various parties. Factor analysis methods process rank barrier factors for applications context industrialized building. Based each factor, analytic hierarchy adopted identify key construction. study concluded that main capital-related lack support owners. This proposes addition governmental policy multi-stakeholder engagement, companies should also organize experts effectively evaluate risks applying BIM. Overall, provides suggestions construction organizational transformations roadmap moving towards digital-driven industrialization.
